Full time position responsible for reviewing and monitoring documented services provided by the Medical Department. Additional duties include providing support to the Billing office by performing billing functions associated with specific payer sources; researching denied claims and generating appeals; verification of insurance benefits, coverage, and eligibility; and processing Medicaid service authorizations. May serve as back-up to the reception area. Qualifications include: High school diploma or GED; previous administrative work experience is required with experience in the healthcare industry preferred; Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, skills required; data entry experience required, with two to three years of experience working in a computerized billing department preferred; billing/coding certification may be substituted for experience; medical terminology knowledge required.
