Medical Director - Anchorage

Alaska Behavioral Health, formerly Anchorage Community Mental Health Services, is growing to meet the needs of our community. We were recently awarded a grant to become a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center. (CCBHC). This grant will aid us with the long-term goal of providing better medical services to our patients. This new role will have the opportunity to develop and lead this new service. The Medical Director will be responsible for direct patient care, and the management and supervision of the medical program. The Medical Director will provide the infrastructure, systems, tools, and leadership capacity to drive meaningful change and integration of services, employing best practices in measurement and performance improvement, and is comfortable utilizing data to drive improvement. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician.

Alaska Behavioral Health has multiple clinics in Anchorage and Fairbanks. Our Child and Family Services includes a nationally recognized Child Trauma Center, a therapeutic preschool and early childhood specialty clinic, a transition-age youth program that includes a drop-in center and job skills development program with integrated mental health services, and an outpatient child and family clinic that provides evidence-based child and family therapy services. Our adult programs serve those who experience a broad range of mental illnesses through therapy, medication management, a vocational training program, supported housing, intensive outpatient services, and case management as well as traditional clinic-based services. We will be opening a Military Families Clinic in May as well.

The salary range is $240,000 to $300,000 per year. In addition to the base salary, there are opportunities to earn up to $60,000 in annual incentives each year based on achievement of individual and organizational goals.
