PES Clinician - Fairbanks

Full-time, salaried position responding to mental health crisis calls from other agencies or individuals by providing emergency mental health assessments, crisis intervention, consultation, and referral services. The position is scheduled to work 12-hour shifts three days one week with four days the next week, and will rotate between two clinicians between 11:00 a.m. to 11 p.m. TIMES ARE NEGOTIABLE!!!  The Psychiatric Emergency Services Clinician facilitates client access to voluntary or involuntary psychiatric hospital care and prescribes other clinical interventions necessary to maintain safety and reduce harm. Evaluates crisis situations promptly and provides necessary services or directs other staff in provision of necessary services to effectively resolve the crisis. Conducts clinical evaluations to determine need for hospitalization. Understands and implements AS 47.30.670 - AS 47.30.730 as needed regarding voluntary/involuntary mental health treatment. Requires a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, counseling, rehabilitation counseling, or similar mental healthcare discipline. Alaska license or eligibility as Social Worker, Psychologist, Psychological Associate, Professional Counselor, or Marriage & Family Therapist or on tract to receive licensure within two years. Requires one year (full-time) or equivalent post-graduate, supervised experience with adults with severe, persistent mental disorders in a mental healthcare treatment or rehabilitation program. Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention is desirable. Requires use of personal vehicle, proof of AK vehicle insurance & clean driving record. Computer skills required.
